'I like this issue of the [Apple Scruffs] magazine,' George said. 'Particularly the jokes. But what does “teabags” mean?'
We all laughed. We also didn’t answer his question.
We had several catchphrases in the magazine that were just meant for the Scruffs. ‘Teabags’ and ‘shoes’ referred to the male sex organs. We’d write or say in front of someone ‘He’s got a nice pair of shoes’. Or we’d simply shout ‘Teabags!’ Then we’d all fall about laughing.
George was confused by our laughter. He blushed and decided not to press the point."
